Empowering New Mexico’s Women+ and Girls+ to Thrive

At the Southwest Women’s Law Center, we stand at the forefront of advancing economic security, protecting reproductive rights, and eliminating gender-based discrimination. Through bold advocacy, strategic partnerships, and community-driven action, we fight to create a future where every woman and girl has the opportunity to live with dignity, equality, and justice. Rooted in the principles of women’s law in New Mexico, our mission drives systemic change that impacts lives statewide. Together, we are building lasting change — one voice, one case, one victory at a time.

Eliminating gender bias, discrimination, and harassment, and providing limited legal services.

Our work centers on issues that impact women+, including economic security, reproductive rights and justice, and gender-based violence and discrimination.

We fight for policies that lift women and their families out of poverty, including pay equity, paid family and medical leave, and pregnant worker accommodation.

And we are taking a stand to end discrimination against women and girls in the workplace, school, and the university.
