In 2020, New Mexico’s Pregnant Worker Accommodation (PWA) Act was passed, strengthening pregnant worker rights in New Mexico. The New Mexico PWA Act is more protective than the federal version because it covers employers with four or more employees, whereas the federal Pregnant Workers Fairness Act only covers employers with 15 or more employees.
