Legal advocacy is necessary to create systemic changes needed to improve the lives of many women and girls.
The SWLC provides free legal representation, advice, and brief services in Pueblo courts for Native women+ experiencing domestic violence and/or intimate partner violence. The SWLC can help by assisting survivors in creating a safety plan, filing temporary domestic orders, obtaining protective orders, initiating divorce and child custody, obtaining child support, accessing quality affordable healthcare including access to Medicaid and Medicare, and access to other legal resources as it relates to the domestic violence incident.
