The Southwest Women’s Law Center provides free legal representation, advice, and brief services for Native women+ who are experiencing domestic violence and/or intimate partner violence*.
Free Legal Services for Native Women+
We help by:
- assisting survivors in creating a safety plan,
- filing temporary domestic orders,
- obtaining protective orders,
- obtaining child support and child custody,
- accessing quality affordable healthcare including access to Medicaid and Medicare, and
- accessing other legal resources as it relates to the domestic violence incident.
*Must be 200% of the Federal Poverty Level or lower to qualify (services are free).
If you need legal assistance, please call our office number at 505-244-0502, and our intake worker will complete an intake form and refer you to speak to our staff attorney. If we are unable to assist you, we will aim to give you other legal resources.
