Two primary frameworks are used for reproductive issues:
- Reproductive Rights
- Reproductive Justice
The Southwest Women’s Law Center is committed to working with a Reproductive Justice framework.
Reproductive Rights focuses primarily on abortion and contraception, positioning abortion as an individual’s personal and private choice.
The Reproductive Justice framework focuses on the right to have children, the right not to have children, and the right to raise the children we have in a safe and dignified manner.
By working in both areas, we are including the right to abortion, contraception, and all aspects of the reproductive experience, including access to care for those with disabilities, menstruation, fertility treatments, surrogacy, and childcare.

Southwest Women’s Law Center is dedicated to fighting for policies that ensure access to reproductive health resources.
Anti-Abortion Crisis Pregnancy Centers
CPCs are nonprofit organizations that present themselves as healthcare clinics while providing counseling and “free” goods explicitly intended to discourage and limit access to abortion.

The Southwest Women’s Law Center focuses on issues that impact women and girls around reproductive rights, economic security, and gender discrimination.
We fight for policies that lift women and their families from poverty, including pay equity, paid family and medical leave, and pregnant worker accommodation.
