We Did It!

December 3, 2013 by SWLC

On November 19, 2013 the Southwest Women’s Law Center and the rest of the New Mexico Coalition for Choice  Respect Albuquerque Women defeated the anti-choice  measure on the Albuquerque ballot. This win is a testimony to the strength of local organizations that have been building a strong movement for justice in New Mexico for many years.  We are proud that this campaign provided accurate information and acknowledged the complexity of decision-making around abortion.  We reminded voters that these decisions should be in the hands of women in consultation with their family, their doctor and their faith.

Help get a friend enrolled in health care! Reaching out to uninsured New Mexicans and reminding them to find out about their options for health insurances is a critical part of ensuring that people get covered.
